Journal Prompts for Self-Reflection and Introspection
Journal Prompts for Self-Reflection
and Introspection
The ability to be introspective and reflect on your thoughts and actions subjectively is necessary for growth. How can you work to change if you don’t know what you think or believe?
When using journaling prompts, allow yourself to write without censoring your words or worrying about spelling or grammar. Giving yourself the freedom to write whatever comes to mind without corrections may help deepen the experience of self-reflection.
These journaling prompts will help you become more self-reflective:
When do I feel happiest?
List five attributes I am most proud of.
What is one thing I can do today to remind myself I am enough?
In what ways do I limit myself?
What are beliefs I have about myself, and where do I think they came from. When did they start?
What is going on in my life that is not how I would like it to be?
Are there patterns across my relationships that I would like to be different? Are there ways I would like to improve in how I relate to others? (example: Friends say that I am too easily triggered. Or People tell me that I could have more empathy)
When someone says something that triggers me emotionally, what sensations do I feel in my body?
When I get emotional about something someone says to me, how old do I feel?
